KNEU graduate Tetyana Ruban became the first Ukrainian to receive the "Rising Star Award"07 November 2022р.KNEU graduate Tetyana Ruban became the first Ukrainian to receive the RisingStar award. The KNEU community is pleased to congratulate our graduate, Tetiana Ruban, who became the first Ukrainian to receive the prestigious RisingStar award from LicensingInternational. For the past 10 years, international brand licensing organization Licensing International has recognized professionals who have made significant contributions to the industry. This year, only 6 people received the RisingStar award among nominees from all over the world, and among them was a representative of Ukraine. RisingStar is an award that recognizes the success of industry representatives under the age of 35. Among the criteria are leadership, innovativeness, experience, influence on the development of the global licensing market, and the desire for professional growth. Brand licensing is a global industry with a turnover of more than $315 billion. If you have ever bought a toy with a cartoon character, a t-shirt with an image of a super hero or a notebook with your favorite car brand, you have already become part of the licensing sphere. After all, well-known animated series, films, works of artists, musical groups, sports clubs, etc. are brands with their rights holders. To use them on products, manufacturers buy a license and pay a royalty for it - percesnt of sales. This is how the licensing market works. In August 2020, Tetyana Ruban headed the licensing agency Nerd agency (part of FILM.UAGroup). She assembled a team, engaged rights holders with popular licensed brands in the midst of the pandemic, and played a key role in signing licensing agreements with clients. At the moment, among the Nerd agency brands are: "Mavka. Forest Song", "Robocar Polly", "Little Town", "Brave Rabbits", "Inheritance" and others. The Nerd Agency has launched dozens of licensed products with its partners. Even despite the war, the agency continues to work, attracts new brands, signs new contracts and launches new products. In addition, Nerd agency has reached the international level and also cooperates with foreign clients. And already in 2022, Tatiana became one of the winners of the RisingStarAwards2022! At the age of 31, Tetyana is a graduate of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman, PhD, majoring in "world economy and international economic relations". Fluent in English. According to Tetiana, it is the thorough education of KNEU that forms structural thinking and a broad outlook, allows one to see the overall picture of business processes, ways for the development, and gives the ability to assess the economic situation and react correctly to it. All this is very important for success in business. Mrs. Tetiana is grateful to the Department of International Trade and Marketing for the acquired knowledge and skills: "I want to acknowledge my scientific supervisor, Doctor of Economics, professor, head of the Department of International Trade and Marketing of KNEU Tetiana Mykhailivna Tsygankova. She became my support during the writing of the scientific dissertation. She inspired new research, challenged me and helped me. Tetyana Mykhailivna is still for me a model of constant self-development and self-education!". Tatiana Ruban has significant experience in marketing and licensing, and thanks to the RisingStarAwards victory, she will get access to the specialized certification program Certification of Licensing Studies Program (CLS) and a whole year of mentoring from foreign licensing gurus. "It is a great honor for me to receive the Rising Star 2022 award. It is also a great opportunity for development in this difficult time. I am very grateful to my Nerd agency team for their joint contribution to our success. I also want to thank FILM.UAGroup, which has become a reliable platform for joint growth. And, of course, we can talk about the achievements in free Ukraine thanks to the Armed Forces, which hold the defense." - says Tetiana Ruban. The award ceremony took place on December 7 at Gotham Hall in New York. We congratulate Tetiana Ruban, PhD, on international recognition and wish her to conquer even higher professional horizons! |
