It was founded by Kyiv National University of Economics in 2003 with the support of the Center for Trade Policy and Law of Ottawa at Carleton and Ottawa Universities, Norman Paterson School of International Relations (CTPL - Canada) and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). From 2003 to 2018, the editor-in-chief of the journal was Lukianenko D.G., Doctor of Economics, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Rector of KNEU. Currently, the editor-in-chief of the journal is Tsygankova T.M., Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of International Trade and Marketing of KNEU. The "International Economic Policy" is included in the official list of professional publications of Ukraine in the field of "Economic Sciences" (category "B", according to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated March 17, 2020 №409).
