Polish and Ukrainian economists

"CONVERGENCE AND DIVERGENCE IN EUROPE:

POLISH AND UKRAINIAN CASES "

 

     September 18, 2013 in the conference hall of SHEE "Kyiv National

Economic University named after Vadym Hetman"  round table - presentation of  join monograph by Polish and Ukrainian economists" Convergence and divergence in Europe: Polish and Ukrainian cases"  was held.

                                                    

The joint monograph byPolish and Ukrainian economists "Convergence and divergence in Europe: Polish and Ukrainian cases" is the product of a fruitful collaboration between SHEE "Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman" and Cracow University of Economics, which was released due to the effective organization of scientific cooperation on the part of professors Michal Wozniak (Poland), Dmitry Lukyanenko and Viktor Chuzhykov (Ukraine)

                                                          

The participants of the round table were representatives of both academic and diplomatic circles, which is especially important in light of the Vilnius summit, which is to establish Ukraine as an integral partner of the EU within the Association and forming Free Trade Area (FTA ).

                                                                   

    The welcoming speechesto the participants of the roundtable were addressed by the Rector of SHEE "Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman", Academician A.F.Pavlenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria to Ukraine W. D. Heim, Secretary of the Economic Section of the Embassy of Poland to Ukraine S. Matuszak, who noted the crucial importance of this event for the European integration of Ukraine. Among participants also were: Counsellor of the Embassy of Germany toUkraine in issues of policy Bayer T.; Minister-Counsellor (Deputy Head of Mission) of the Embassy of Romania to Ukraine V. Mosanu, First Secretary of the Embassy of Latvia to Ukraine Ligida Davidova. The wishes of success to the roundtable were sent  by the President of European Council H. Van Rompuy.

The presentations of research during the roundtable sessions involved, both well-known experts in the field of European integration, in particular Professor M. Wozniak (Poland) and V. Chuzhykov (Ukraine) and young scientists of SHEE "Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman" and Cracow University of Economics, including O. Fedirko A., D. Firszt, L. Jablonski, Y. Renkas, indicating the provision of balanced "inter-age" approach to the research.

                                                       

Lively scientific debate that took place in the hall after the presentations shows a deep interest of scientific, political and diplomatic circles of Ukraine to the results of the joint research and serves as an inspiring impetus for further cooperation.

   The book is printed and it begins its journey to the leading libraries of the world, and thus also to the reader.
