HISTORY OF THE FACULTY Establishment of the Department of International Economic Relations In 1989, on the initiative of the university's rector, Professor A.F. Pavlenko, the Financial and Economic Faculty introduced a new specialty, "International Economic Relations," and established the Department of International Economic Relations. The department was headed by PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Dmytro Lukyanenko. Faculty of International Economic Relations In 1992, the Faculty of International Economic Relations was established, comprising two departments: International Economic Relations and Foreign Languages. The faculty's first dean (in 1992–1994) was PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Oleh Mozhovyi. Faculty of International Economics and Law In 1993, the faculty introduced a second specialty, "Jurisprudence". In 1994, it was renamed the Faculty of International Economics and Law. In 1995, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Dmytro Hryhorovych Lukyanenko was appointed dean (in 1995–2012). As part of the faculty's reorganization, the following departments were established:
Faculty of International Economics and Management In June 1999, following the establishment of the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of International Economics and Management was formed at KNEU. In 2013, the faculty's graduate, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Yuriy Solodkovskyi, was elected as dean (2013 - til present). Innovative approaches to faculty management and the integration of modern global experience in professional training have driven the introduction of new specialties and educational programs at the bachelor's level:
Transformational processes in society and the implementation of policies to develop intellectual and human resources have facilitated the launch of new master’s programs at the faculty:
The internship and fluency in two foreign languages are anong the obligatory elements of the training. Students of the faculty actively participate in academic mobility programs, international exchange initiatives, and various student activities, including research conferences, competitions, and cultural events. The faculty continuously strengthens its cooperation with business and governmental institutions to provide students with top-tier opportunities for pre-graduation internships, practical training, and professional networking. These partnerships contribute to enhancing the quality of higher education and equipping students with the necessary skills for successful careers in the global economic environment. Departments of the Faculty train PhDs and ScDs in the World Economy and International Economic Relations. Since 2004, the International Economic Policy scientific magazine has been published. The fundamental nature of the scientific research pursued by researchers of the Faculty, and the recognition of their merits at the domestic and international levels support the claim that a scientific school of research into international economic integration, competitiveness and globalisation has developed here. It was founded by professors D.H. Lukyanenko, A.M. Poruchnyk, O.M. Mozgovy, B.V. Hubsky, T.M. Tsyhankova, Y.H. Panchenko, V.I. Chuzhykov, et al. Information for students |
